Job Description

As an Enterprise Software Development Lead at Scotiabank, you will be responsible for contributing to the overall success of our Online Digital Banking in Canada. Your primary goal will be to ensure specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives.

You will also be responsible for ensuring all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

About the Role

This role involves championing a customer-focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge. You will need to understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Additionally, you will actively pursue effective and efficient operations of your respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong background in software development, preferably as a developer and team lead, with 8+ years of progressive experience working in the IT industry.
  • Expert-level experience in technologies such as Javascript / ReactJS / NodeJS, HTML / CSS / SASS, and enterprise-grade software design and development.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, coupled with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
