At Mauser Packaging Solutions, we are seeking a skilled Mold Technician to join our team. As a Mold Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production tools and molds.
Responsibilities:- Preventive Maintenance: Perform and track routine preventive maintenance on all production tools to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Mold Repair: Repair molds as required using welding and machining techniques to maintain production efficiency.
- Work Order Management: Oversee all work and work orders for all molds, ensuring timely completion and effective resource allocation.
- SMED Changes: Manage all SMED (Single-Minute Exchange of Dies) changes to production molds, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption.
- Inventory Management: Organize and maintain all inserts in cabinets, ensuring accurate inventory levels and efficient access.
- Mold Changes and Reports: Oversee all mold changes and generate reports to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Mold Downtime: Identify and report mold downtime, working with the team to resolve issues and minimize impact.
- Team Leadership: Direct fellow team members in daily workload, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project completion.
- Vendor Collaboration: Work with tooling vendors on repairs, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution.
- Safety and Inventory: Maintain a safe inventory stock of mold parts, initiating purchase orders as needed and inspecting used parts for dimensional changes.
- Quality Collaboration: Work daily with the Quality department to address defects and improve overall product quality.
- On-Call Program: Participate in the on-call program, being available to work additional hours as required to ensure business continuity.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: 3-5 years' experience in a maintenance-related position within a manufacturing environment, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Skills: Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc. Ability to use precision measuring devices, including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges. Basic understanding of systems, equipment, and schematics. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Good troubleshooting skills. Basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fractions. Ability to perform work in a mature and professional manner, demonstrate personal responsibility, and perform all assigned duties.
