Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Soucy. In this role, you will play a key part in optimizing our purchasing processes, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and cost control.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Negotiate and manage strategic agreements with suppliers to ensure reliable, efficient, and cost-effective supply.
  • Adjust and prepare purchase orders according to production needs.
  • Analyze and manage inventories to optimize costs and lead times.
  • Monitor deliveries and manage relations with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Participate in the evaluation of material and subcontracting prices for new customer projects, in order to identify the most advantageous offer.
  • Develop and evaluate new sources of supply, while keeping abreast of market trends.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and propose process improvements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and adjust strategies in the event of deviations (costs, lead times, quality).

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree or college diploma in administration or other relevant field.
  • 2 to 5 years in a similar position, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of mechanical components and machining (an asset) as well as value-added production methods (VAP - Kanban, Kaizen, 5S).
  • Excellent command of French and English (oral and written) to be able to communicate with our English-speaking suppliers.
