We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr. Consultant, Government Relations to join our team at Santis Health, a leading national health consultancy dedicated to providing strategic advisory services to clients within the Canadian healthcare sector.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in government relations, public policy, and communications, with excellent written and oral communication skills and presentation skills (including creating PowerPoint decks).
About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our government relations team to provide strategic problem-solving, public policy, and communications services to the senior leadership of the firm and its clients. As a Sr. Consultant, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of client projects and deliverables, advising on government engagement, public affairs, and advocacy strategies, and interacting with government officials and decision-makers to build and maintain relationships.
Responsibilities Include:- Leading project management, including designing project plans, ensuring adherence to timelines, managing unexpected changes, and mitigating risks.
- Developing government relations initiatives, briefing notes, slide decks, and other communication materials.
- Liaising with clients as part of ongoing project management responsibilities.
- Identifying key stakeholders and creating tailored stakeholder maps.
- Participating in client strategy sessions.
- Degree in political science, public policy, economics, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience); post-graduate qualifications are beneficial.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience - government relations or advocacy preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of government affairs, public policy, and politics in Ontario and across Canada.
- Experience leading projects or programs independently.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical ability to clearly structure information and recommendations.
- $85,000 per year + performance-based bonuses.
