Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Policy Advisor to join our team within the Ministry of Transportation’s Transit Delivery and Partnerships Branch.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a policy professional with excellent leadership capabilities to take their career to the next level. As a Senior Policy Advisor, you will provide strategic policy analysis, commercial support, and oversight on major provincial transit infrastructure projects across the province.

You will undertake all aspects of policy and program development, including research and analysis, issue identification, and development of options and recommendations. Additionally, you will assess and provide strategic advice on the challenges and opportunities of delivering and maintaining transit infrastructure.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Providing strategic policy analysis and commercial support on major provincial transit infrastructure projects
  • Undertaking all aspects of policy and program development, including research and analysis, issue identification, and development of options and recommendations
  • Assessing and providing strategic advice on the challenges and opportunities of delivering and maintaining transit infrastructure
  • Conducting stakeholder management by developing and maintaining relationships with transit agencies, other governments, and stakeholders
  • Providing policy advice to senior management and staff through reports, briefing notes, and presentations

Your Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Analytical, problem-solving, and research skills to lead research and analysis of developments in support of transportation initiatives
  • Project management skills to consult and coordinate projects with internal and external stakeholders
  • Communication and consultation skills to identify areas of concern and resolve problems with municipal officials, agency officials, and partner ministries
  • Transportation policy knowledge, including government planning and policy development processes, strategic directions, and multi-modal transportation theory principles and practices

Estimated Salary Range: $82,217 - $121,155 per year based on your experience and qualifications.
