At Crabbe Lumber, we are seeking a skilled Sawmill Machine Operator to join our team. As a Sawmill Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining sawmill equipment to produce high-quality lumber.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine logs and rough lumber to determine the best lumber cuts
  • Saw, trim, and plane rough lumber into dressed lumber of various sizes
  • Start conveyor systems to move logs and lumber to and from saws
  • Monitor logs and lumber movement to ensure cuts are made according to specifications
  • Set up and adjust saw equipment
  • Replace blades or bands
  • Clean and lubricate sawmill equipment
Work Environment:
  • Noisy
  • Dusty
Work Setting:
  • Sawmill
Requirements:
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • Will train on the job
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Manual dexterity and attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
