Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Systems Engineer to join our team at Jonas Software UK. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing complex infrastructure solutions to support our business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and engineer overall infrastructure and technology solutions to meet business requirements
  • Develop and implement standards, operational runbooks, and project plans to ensure efficient and effective IT operations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and translate them into cutting-edge technical solutions
  • Proactively identify and recommend updates/upgrades to technology to stay ahead of market trends
  • Provide level III support, prioritizing and executing assigned tasks to ensure high availability and business continuity
  • Coordinate all infrastructure-based activities, including design/installation of new hardware and backup/recovery
  • Monitor, identify, and troubleshoot server configuration and/or performance monitoring issues
  • Develop and test scripts to automate routine tasks and improve IT efficiency
  • Create, maintain, and improve documents/procedures and train peers and team members on procedures
  • Effectively participate and provide Third-level production support on a rotating basis or when called upon
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related Enterprise Infrastructure engineering experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including interpersonal and customer service skills
  • 5-7 years of experience in the design, implementation, and managing of complex infrastructure solutions, including O365 Suite, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, AAD, and Azure
  • Working knowledge of Cloud technologies, Azure or AWS, Windows Server Environment, Active Directory, DHCP/DNS, Group Policy, Printing Service, Disaster Recovery planning, and best practices
  • Process and operational knowledge and understanding of foundational technology, including Automated software distribution, Security patch management, Backup tools, and server recovery
  • Scripting/Automation skills, including Visual Basic, PowerShell, or Shell Script
  • Product/platform evaluation and recommendation skills
  • Ability to engineer solutions for given SaaS and IaaS technologies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Basic understanding of Storage Technologies, such as SAN and Netapp
  • SQL Server and Database skills, including MS SQL or MySQL
  • Apple/Mac technologies skills
