Senior Sustainability Expert

This senior appointment within Mott MacDonald's Advisory team offers long-term career potential in addressing climate change. The role involves growing the Climate Change and Sustainability services in the Canadian Unit and across North America.
Responsibilities
- Manage and direct climate resilience, carbon mitigation, and sustainability projects for public and private sector clients. This includes GHG inventories, embodied carbon assessments, climate risk assessments, adaptation planning, and implementing the Envision standard.
- Provide account leadership on key Canadian accounts, ensuring opportunities are delivered on schedule and budget while providing a client-centric experience.
- Exercise leadership and initiative in support of the Canadian CC&S team, identifying and pursuing opportunities and preparing successful proposals.
- Exercise project leadership via a Project Principal role, supporting project managers and teams to deliver high-quality work and exercising sound commercial awareness.
- Participate in the global community of advisory and climate change consultants, collaborating with colleagues across Regions.
- Mentor and coach junior colleagues to build their capabilities and commercial awareness.
- Provide thought leadership in the market, preparing materials for and attending industry events, and engaging with clients to share collective experience.
Requirements
- A post-secondary degree and 12+ years of experience related to engineering and/or infrastructure development.
- Sound commercial understanding and desire to operate within a dynamic commercial environment.
- Significant experience in project design, implementation, and management, including transportation infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated business development experience with a track record of growing a business and securing CC&S projects.
- Familiar and proficient with project management principles and processes.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and experience of working within a team environment.
- Line managing junior staff and providing oversight and mentorship.
- Excellent written and presentation skills.
- Able to work independently and unsupervised.
- A keenness to grow client relationships and expand existing mandates.
