Staff Accountant

As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing client accounting records, financial statements, and tax returns, as well as making updates using the client's accounting software.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

* Preparing client accounting records, financial statements, and tax returns
* Preparing T4s, T5s, GST, and other compliance returns
* Preparing journal entries
* Preparing proprietor, corporate, partnership, and trust client financial statements (compilations)
* Preparing individual, corporate, trust tax returns, and partnership information returns
* Making updates using the client's accounting software, including posting to general ledgers, reconciling accounts, and reviewing reports
* Collaborating with peers and management on file planning and completion, ensuring that time requirements are met
* Providing personal, attentive service to clients, encouraging productive working relationships

The successful candidate will have:

* 1-year public practice accounting experience (minimum)
* Experience in assurance and non-assurance financial statement engagements
* Entrepreneurial mindset with commitment to client service and teamwork
* Strong desire and dedication to work, learn, and thrive in a fast-paced, innovative, and dynamic environment
* Excellent communication and analytical skills
* Self-motivation and a strong work ethic with an ability to work both independently and as part of a team
* Sound judgment regarding confidential and sensitive matters
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
