The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Firmware Developer to join our team of software development experts. As a key member of our firmware development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing firmware for our scientific dataloggers and ground motion sensors.
Key Responsibilities- Develop firmware for our seismic datalogger and sensor products, ensuring high levels of reliability, robustness, and minimal power consumption.
- Design solutions involving embedded systems and their integration with cloud applications, leveraging your expertise in IP networking protocols, application protocols, and software development tools.
- Solve complex problems involving system integration, testability, manufacturability, reliability, performance, and usability, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and excellence.
- Provide clear and concise communication of proposed designs and changes to existing designs, ensuring seamless collaboration with stakeholders.
- Contribute to project management by providing status summaries, estimating effort, and identifying risk, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality firmware.
- Mentor junior developers, sharing your expertise and knowledge to drive team growth and success.
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Minimum 4+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong background in embedded system development, Linux, and/or RTOS environments.
- Thorough understanding of IP networking protocols, application protocols, and software development tools, including version control, task tracking, automated test frameworks, deployment tools, and continuous integration.
- Knowledge of common I/O protocols, such as SPI, I2C, RS232, and USB.
- Familiarity with the Rust programming language and experience with Yocto.
