Role and Responsibilities

As an IT Solutions Architect on our team, you will be the technical leader in multidisciplinary teams, including architecture, customer experience, cybersecurity, project management, and project sponsors.

You will be involved in delivery teams, leading to involvement in internal CAE programs and external programs for our customers.

Main Responsibilities

  • Play a technical leadership role in all aspects of the project life cycle, from needs analysis to design and architectures in a hybrid environment, with a focus on cloud-first architectures.
  • Provide expertise and advice to ensure technology teams and technology-related fields of activity understand architectural and technology options that support business initiatives.
  • Participate in defining CAE's cloud adoption strategy and its impact on solution architecture and application modernization.
  • Be an agent of change and promote agile mentality, supporting delivery teams in their agile transformation and adoption of DevOps practices.
  • Stay up-to-date with new trends and participate in CAE's technology watch.

Requirements

  • University degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • At least eight years' experience in IT and three to five years' experience in solution or project architecture.
  • Personal motivation, energy, team player, and results-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative matrix environment.
  • Experience working with system integrators or implementing supplier products is an asset.
  • Good understanding of networking principles.
  • Ability to work with the cybersecurity team through knowledge of cybersecurity principles and their impact on solution architecture.
  • Solid understanding of web application architecture and design principles.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, etc.) is required.
  • Motivated by continuous learning and ability to learn quickly about new technologies.
  • Experience in developing solutions in heterogeneous and hybrid application environments.
  • Good knowledge of the IT application development life cycle.
  • Exposure to multiple and diverse technologies and processing environments.
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required.
