The Indigenous Relations Coordinator is a key role within our organization, responsible for establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with Indigenous communities. This position requires strong organizational and time management skills, as well as excellent communication and relationship building skills.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement the Indigenous Participation Plan in collaboration with Indigenous communities.
- Participate in meetings with Indigenous communities to discuss employment, training, and subcontracting opportunities.
- Facilitate delivery of Indigenous cultural sensitivity and awareness training for the project team.
- Engage with Indigenous communities to identify and leverage training opportunities.
- Participate in community activities that promote cross-cultural engagement and inclusion of Indigenous values.
- Update the Indigenous Participation Plan in collaboration with Indigenous communities.
- Bachelor's degree in Indigenous Relations, geography, archeology, anthropology, political science, public administration, forestry, natural resources, regional planning, business administration, or related field.
- Minimum of five years recent demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining productive working relationships with Indigenous groups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Able to use Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Competitive base compensation of $70,000.
