Key Responsibilities:
The incumbent will be responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective environment through the design and revision of programs and courses, defining and evaluating learning outcomes, developing appropriate teaching and learning environments that support student success, and developing/selecting appropriate learning materials. You will be expected to support student learning and progress, create assessments, rubrics, and evaluate student achievement.
Qualifications:
Successful completion of a PhD in Nursing is required
5 years recent clinical experience in acute care, long term care, and/or community care settings
Current registration and good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
Previous teaching experience at a post secondary academic level
Experience utilizing simulation strategies in teaching is preferred
Candidates must be able to work cooperatively with students, faculty, and personnel in clinical agencies
Must be computer literate
Experience with Microsoft Office suite of programs; Brightspace (D2L) or other Learning Management Systems; electronic clinical documentation system or other computer documentation programs, is preferable
The successful candidate will teach theory, experiential learning lab and clinical courses in community and/or institutional settings. Applicants must have the ability to be an effective role model in an educational setting and function effectively in a team environment.
Requirements:
Candidates must be self-motivated, and be an independent worker who functions well in a team environment with superior communication, team building, leadership, and computer skills. Teaching and/or training experience with evidence of demonstrated application of adult learning principles and teaching/assessment methodologies, curriculum design, and development is preferred.
