About the Role

CrossSafety Holdings Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Health & Safety Transit Specialist to join our Surface Transit Infrastructure Team. As a key member of our consultant business, you will be responsible for supporting clients in ensuring a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct project-level inspections and audits to identify and mitigate hazards
  • Provide expertise and advice on health, safety, and environmental issues to clients, colleagues, and management
  • Develop and maintain internal and external reports, timesheets, and other required documentation
  • Support Occupational Safety, Health, and Wellbeing strategies
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of jobsites, public areas, and adjacent areas, taking corrective actions to eliminate unsafe acts or conditions
  • Assist with on-site incidents, accidents, investigations, and H&S requirements
  • Identify opportunities to expand or obtain new client opportunities leveraging CrossSafety Holdings Inc. services
Requirements
  • Certificate or Diploma in Health and Safety, or equivalent training and experience
  • Professional designation preferred (NCSO, CRST, CHSC, or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of direct onsite safety experience
  • Experience in transportation and heavy civil construction is a strong asset
  • Working knowledge of Ontario OHSA and Regulations for Construction projects
  • Field-level safety audit and inspection experience
  • Demonstrated experience in public safety, testing and commissioning, and operational safety, ideally in the transit or rail industry
  • Proficient with computer applications, tablets, and the Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Effective communication, presentation, and consultation skills
