Your Role on Our Team

Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, the Health and Safety Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being of all individuals within our organization. This position is focused on implementing, evaluating, promoting, and continuously improving Minto's integrated health and safety program.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with various departments to develop and maintain a comprehensive health and safety program that complies with all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of work sites to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, prepare reports, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Provide training and education to employees on health and safety procedures, best practices, and emergency response plans.
  • Collaborate with contractors and vendors to ensure their adherence to Minto's health and safety standards.
  • Stay informed about changes in legislation and industry best practices related to health and safety.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a health and safety role, preferably within the construction and real estate industries.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify hazards and implement effective control measures.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and health and safety software applications.
