Solutions Architect Job Description

Adecco Canada is seeking a highly skilled Solutions Architect to join our team. This is a 1-year onsite contract opportunity with a possibility of extension. The successful candidate must have a Secret Security Clearance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop technical architectures, frameworks, and strategies for the Impact application, detailing the current state and future state transformation recommendations.
  • Contribute to technical specifications outlining a transformation roadmap to migrate from a PowerBuilder-based system to a modern framework.
  • Code, test, and implement software changes to the current Impact system as needed to support transformation, integration, and change to integrated systems.
  • Coordinate and conduct unit, system, and stress testing for PowerBuilder modules requiring changes due to transformation in integrated systems.
  • Ensure the integration of all aspects of the project's technology solution with other platforms currently in use.
  • Receive, triage, and action tickets from the user community related to urgent changes, fixes, or data requirements prior to the decommissioning of the system.
  • Collaborate with the project team, including the Project Manager, Developers, and Testers.
  • Meet with clients as required for deliverables.
  • Provide status reports and presentations as needed.
  • Complete and submit time sheets for weekly approval using the in-house Project Tracking System.
Requirements:
  • Greater than ten (10) years of professional work experience as an Application Software Architect.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional work experience developing PowerBuilder (version 10 or higher) technical architectures, frameworks, and strategies for an organization/application area to meet business and application requirements.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience with the PowerBuilder Integrated Development Environment (IDE), version 10.0 or higher.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional work experience performing requirements analysis, design, and architecture for medium to large-scale Windows applications (over 100 users with at least 500 windows and 1000 data windows) with PowerBuilder version 10 or higher.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional work experience ensuring the integration of all aspects of large-scale Windows applications (over 100 users with at least 500 windows and 1000 data windows) with PowerBuilder version 10 or higher.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional work experience using Erwin or similar data modeling tool for a data schema of at least 500 tables.
