Job Summary

We are seeking a Loader Operator to join our team at Heidelberg Materials North America, previously known as Lehigh Hanson. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner, maintaining all equipment as directed, and participating in monthly and annual inventory of aggregates and fuel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate front-end loader to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage areas, to feed conveyors, hoppers, and to load trucks.
  • Verify amount of aggregate in storage bins and fill hoppers to ensure adequate quantity and quality of raw materials is maintained.
  • Participate in monthly and annual inventory of aggregates and fuel.
  • Remove leftover concrete from surfaces.
  • Perform routine maintenance on loaders, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
  • Participate in making sure the quality and quantity of raw materials meets established standards.
  • Ensure assigned established performance indicators are met.
  • Work toward improvement of the assigned plant and surrounding area.
  • Follow established environmental procedures to ensure that the plant for which he/she is working is in compliance with state, federal, and local regulations and requirements.
  • Participate in ongoing minor maintenance and visual evaluations of plant and equipment.
  • Work with plant manager, batch person, and other personnel to resolve problems, provide immediate feedback, and may recommend solutions to improve performance.
  • May transport cement and/or additives from storage area in bulk or bags using manual material handling equipment.
  • Adhere to all Heidelberg Materials and Occupational Health and Safety Act rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.
  • Meet or exceed company safety standards.

Requirements

  • Be able to read, write, and speak English.
  • 1yr Loader Operator experience preferred.
  • High school diploma preferred.
