The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Woodland Wellness Centre is seeking a qualified Mental Health Therapist to join their Prevention & Recovery Department in La Ronge, SK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual, family, and group interviews to gather case history information and prepare intake reports.
- Assess clients' strengths, deficits, and difficulties to determine the required services.
- Provide therapy to help clients develop skills to manage social and personal difficulties.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop a self-help approach to improve health and social well-being.
- Participate in community development projects to enhance mental health capacity.
- Provide follow-up care to individuals and families returning from treatment.
- Develop school-based programs and a crisis intervention plan.
- Offer crisis intervention services and emergency shelter referrals.
- Implement and organize service delivery within the community.
- Deliver life skills workshops and presentations on mental health topics.
- Maintain professional confidentiality and adhere to legal and child welfare reporting requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Ability to counsel children, youth, and adults.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Required Professional Registration with a Regulatory Body.
- Experience working with First Nations communities is an asset.
- Ability to speak/understand Cree is an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
- Satisfactory and recent Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, and SGI Driver's Abstract.
