Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Facilities Operations Specialist to join our team at Zymeworks. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our Vancouver M2 building systems, including repairs, preventative maintenance, and programming. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain operation of all Vancouver M2 building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and security systems.
  • Implement and supervise a preventative maintenance schedule for the building and equipment.
  • Coordinate with external contractors for repairs, routine maintenance, and service of furniture, appliances, and general equipment.
  • Fulfill all facilities service requests using the Jira ticket system.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of global office renovations, building systems adjustments, and furniture reconfigurations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Sr Manager, Facilities & EHS for the procurement of materials and services relating to Facilities.
  • Support Lab Operations as needed.

Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field and a minimum of 3 years' related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in a biotech, pharma, or similar facility with a biologics laboratory required.
  • Strong customer service orientation with a hands-on, can-do attitude.
  • Previous experience with SAP Ariba strongly preferred.
  • Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage concurrent deliverables and work effectively in a challenging, milestone-driven environment.
