Job Title: IT Systems Analyst

Avanti Software Inc. is seeking a highly skilled IT Systems Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our computer systems, networks, and communication systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update various software applications, including FDM, Cams, Pro-Q-A, Report Exec, QGIS, Avanti, Questica, Dynamics, Pearl, and Munisight.
  • Provide technical support for Microsoft Technologies, including Windows 11, Windows Server, Exchange, Office365, and SharePoint.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of radio, dispatch, tower, and telephone networks.
  • Configure and maintain County radio/dispatch systems.
  • Interact and perform network tasks with network analysts.
  • Maintain digital files for County GIS, CAD, and AVL mapping systems.
  • Analyze and research new equipment purchases.
  • Provide support to the I.T. department and be cross-trained to fill in during vacations and absences.
  • Dispose of obsolete or redundant computerized equipment.
  • Manage user access security.
  • Provide technical assistance regarding hardware, software, and applications.
  • Maintain inventory of hardware, software, and equipment.
  • Ensure all electronic equipment in Council Chambers is functional and ready for use.
  • Coordinate and conduct training.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Sciences or System Administrator or Computer Science Certification.
  • Minimum of one (1) year PC hardware, software applications, and troubleshooting experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience working for a government organization or similar.
  • Radio system training is considered an asset.
  • Experience with various Microsoft technologies, including O365, is preferred.
  • Experience with Dispatching Systems, such as FDM, Radio Over IP, and AVL, is considered an asset.
  • Ability to configure computer hardware, install devices and cards, troubleshoot problems, and maintenance is considered an asset.
  • Strong understanding of applications like QGIS, Avanti, Questica, Dynamics, Pearl, and MuniSight is considered an asset.
  • Experience with.Net programming is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
  • Completion of Defensive Driving Course.
Work Environment:

Work is conducted in both an office setting, shop, and field setting. Site visits to County facilities are required. Physical lifting, ladder work, climbing, man lift, and other outside duties are required on a regular basis. Work as part of an on-call rotation that provides 24/7 support. Work nights and weekends, as required.
