About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Corporate Actions Specialist to join our team at The Canadian Depository for Securities Limited. This role will be responsible for managing, analyzing, and monitoring entitlement and mandatory corporate reorganization events to ensure timely and accurate payment to participant accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Analyze all information relevant to the processing of mandatory corporate event files, ensuring that all submission, payment dates, and letters of transmittal are identified and pertinent dates established.
  2. Effectively manage and administer ongoing mandatory corporate action/reorganization files, coordinating timely delivery and balancing of securities and receipt of funds with depositaries and paying agents.
  3. Review bulletins, event, submission dates, pay dates, DBRDs, and letters of transmittal to ensure understanding of critical information and diarize action items accordingly.
  4. Coordinate the submission of letters of transmittal/instructions and securities to transfer agents in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy of terms including ISIN/CUSIP, rates, payable date, and amount of submission.
  5. Verify and balance payments prior to requesting release to participants in the CDSX system, adhering to strict deadlines for turnaround of related information.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in commerce or business administration preferred.
  • 3+ years of progressive operational/business experience in the securities financial industry, with 2-3 years of experience in reorganizations/corporate action and entitlement processing functions preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, with ability to plan and prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Excellent analytical/accounting skills to accurately calculate complex security features.
  • Able to work collectively within a team environment to maintain customer focus and achieve desired business results.
  • Ability to gather information through questioning others, reviewing documentation, and observing situations.
  • Detail-oriented and result-driven, with strong problem-solving skills and ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels.
