Fryer Operator Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Fryer Operator to join our production team at McCain Foods. As a Fryer Operator, you will be responsible for the overall performance of the Main Line Fryer, Dryer, Blancher, Ingredients, and the results produced.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Operation: Start up and monitor the operation of the equipment, including the Fryer, Blancher, Ingredient Station, Dryer, and Batter.
  • Product Quality Control: Monitor product color, texture, shape, weight, and controls waste to ensure high-quality products.
  • Processing Adjustments: Make processing adjustments to maintain product specifications.
  • Ingredient Formulation: Formulate proper ingredient mixtures for addition to the product.
  • Testing and Analysis: Perform blanch tests, sugar analysis testing, and blancher/dryer/fryer weight loss tests to determine the impact of processing changes on the final product specification.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate documentation, including entering SPC data and consuming materials in SAP.
  • Sanitation and Housekeeping: Maintain good housekeeping and sanitation practices in the fryer area, including boil-outs, 5S, and routinely scheduled tasks.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of Grade 12 education and experience in a related field.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Strong communication skills, ability to follow detailed instructions, and ability to maintain good working relationships with supervision and coworkers.
  • Physical Demands: Physically capable of performing job duties, including lifting objects up to 40-50lbs, in a high humidity, high temperature work environment.
