Job Title: Senior Corrosion Technologist

Job Summary:

Secure Energy is seeking a highly skilled Senior Corrosion Technologist to join our Fluids Management team in Edmonton. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and testing chemical corrosion inhibitors using high-temperature/pressure autoclaves, RCE, and LPR equipment under sweet and sour conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and interpret HT/LP autoclaves, RCE, and LPR equipment to evaluate corrosion inhibitor performance.
  • Evaluate H2S scavengers and develop new corrosion inhibitor chemistries.
  • Provide technical support to staff on corrosion inhibition and testing procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with Secure Energy's safety policies, ASTM, and AMPP standards.
  • Write technical reports and proposals.
  • Handle gas cylinders, including H2S gas.
  • Conduct corrosion inhibitor residual testing.

Requirements:

  • BSc in Chemistry or Engineering or Chemical or Engineering Technologist minimum.
  • 5+ years of relevant corrosion experience preferred.
  • Oil and Gas production chemicals experience is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to prepare technical reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving skills.
  • A valid Class 5 driver's license.
