The Microsoft Threat Intelligence Center (MSTIC) Signals Engineering team is responsible for enhancing research, detection, and protection against attacks on Microsoft and our customers. We're seeking an innovative Senior Security Engineer who understands the threat landscape and can translate security insights into real-world code processing threat intelligence-related signals.

As a Senior Security Engineer, you'll work closely with threat intelligence analysts and other security researchers to deliver intelligence-focused solutions. You'll be responsible for building innovative analysis tooling that runs at cloud scale, maintaining and improving automated workflows, and forging new partnerships that advance defenders' understanding of key threats.

Responsibilities

  • Accelerate our analysts' insights by building innovative analysis tooling run at cloud scale
  • Work with Threat Intelligence Analysts to maintain and improve their automated workflows
  • Work with other internal and external teams to forge new and improve existing partnerships that advance defenders' understanding of key threats

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cybersecurity, and/or anomaly detection
  • 5+ years development experience with skills in a mix of C/C++, C#, and scripting languages (Python/PowerShell/JS)
  • Experience in testing, deploying, and supporting large real-time scale services on Azure, AWS, or similar environments
  • Knowledge of post-breach compromise domain including methods for reconnaissance, persistence, lateral movement, and data exfiltration across both on-premises and cloud environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cybersecurity, and/or anomaly detection
  • Proficient cross-group and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate the business need for security and technical improvements
