Job Title: Secondary Occasional Teacher

We are seeking qualified and dedicated Secondary Occasional Teachers to join our team at the District School Board of Niagara. As an Occasional Teacher, you will have the opportunity to work in a variety of schools throughout the Niagara region, gaining valuable teaching experience and supporting the needs of students across the system.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction and support to students in a secondary setting, with a focus on creating a positive and inclusive learning environment. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about teaching and are looking to gain experience in a dynamic and supportive school community.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide instruction and support to students in a secondary setting
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to support student learning
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
Requirements:
  • Good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Conditions of Employment: Maintain good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers, Upon hire, provide a Criminal Background Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (dated within six months), Agreement to comply with the Board's policies, procedures and code of conduct, Successful completion of a probationary period in accordance with the Collective Agreement, Work a minimum of 15 teaching days in an academic school year, Complete an annual offence declaration process
