Job Description

Electrical Engineer - Buildings

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in North York, Ontario. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and managing electrical systems for various building types, including commercial, recreational, educational, institutional, and multi-residential projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide electrical systems design leadership and project management for design mandates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare electrical specifications, obtain information from equipment suppliers, and incorporate in designs and specifications.
  • Attend client, consultant, and contractor meetings.
  • Coordinate with Utilities and Municipalities regarding incoming services.
  • Prepare schematics, project documents, and engineering calculations.
  • Independently review shop drawings and quotations from contractors.
  • Provide technical directions to junior designers and CAD operators.

Requirements
  • University degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario (Registered in other provinces is an asset).
  • Minimum 10 years' design experience on various building types.
  • Demonstrated track record of electrical design of complex building systems.
  • Familiarity with design requirements for Building Power, Lighting, fire protection, and Communications systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant building codes including, OBC, OECS, ASHRAE, CSA.
