About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Toronto. As a member of our electrical engineering team, you will be responsible for applying established calculation and design methods to prepare plans, schematics, and technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply established calculation and design methods to prepare plans, schematics, and technical specifications
  • Carry out project steps at electrical substations and generating facilities
  • Help with detailed engineering projects
  • Design and read diagrams and drawings
  • Undertake electrical studies
  • Draft technical documents, calculation notes, specifications, and study reports
  • Apply and improve established work methods
  • Participate in project management (execution, costs, schedules)
  • Participate in coordination meetings either internally or with clients

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Member in good standing with PEO
  • Up to 2 years of experience in engineering as well as proficiency in reading and preparing electrical schematics of various types
  • Available for short-term assignments
  • Knowledge of MS Office and other database applications
  • Basic knowledge of HV/MV/LV apparatus and safety in electrical installations
  • Asset: Bilingual (English and French) spoken and written
  • Asset: Knowledge of power systems (HV, MV, LV)
  • Asset: Knowledge of ETAP, EasyPower, CYME, and PSCAD software
  • Asset: Field experience in the hydroelectric or mining & metals industries
  • Asset: Generation engineering experience
