We are seeking a highly skilled EHS Compliance Specialist to join our team at BWX Technologies. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with nuclear regulatory requirements and maintaining a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct assessments of new or changing regulatory requirements and communicate them to the business.
- Integrate regulatory requirements into internal processes and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide nuclear regulatory and EHS direction and guidance.
- Participate in industry reviews of regulatory changes.
- Prepare regulatory submissions and conduct internal audits.
- Develop and deliver training to personnel at all levels in the organization.
- Interact with management and employees at various levels throughout the organization.
- Communicate with regulatory counterparts and maintain accountability for outcomes.
- Normally a university degree in a science, engineering, or other relevant discipline.
- Ideally, a minimum of 2 years' experience with nuclear regulatory requirements or working in a nuclear or other regulated business.
- Experience with licensing of Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) regulated nuclear facilities, management systems for safety, packaging, transportation, and import/export of radioactive material, knowledge of nuclear safeguards, safety analysis, radiation protection, training, nuclear operations, or Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations are assets.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks without losing focus on priorities.
- Strong technical writing, presentation, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to influence and work with people at all levels and proven skills in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
