Project Accountant Role at PCL

We're seeking a skilled Project Accountant to join our team in Montreal. As a Project Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting our project teams with financial operations, data entry, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform clerical and data entry tasks to meet contractual requirements for operational and basic accounting.
  • Process accounts payable and accounts received in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provide project teams with ad hoc reports and analysis as needed.
  • Assist with the assembly of information for internal and external financial reporting requirements.
  • Assemble client billings packages in accordance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Prepare bank deposits and cash receipt entries.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma.
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related field is considered an asset.
  • Some student experience or 6 months to 1 year of accounting or administrative experience is preferred.
  • Exposure to project forecasting and budgeting.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, including maintenance of ledgers and cash flows.
  • Exposure to project costing principles, recoveries, insurance, and contract/subcontract requirements as related to accounting.
  • Exposure to subcontract purchase order terms, including insurance and subcontractor default insurance requirements.
  • Basic understanding of lien rights.
  • Ability to act with discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software is an asset.
