Job Summary:

As a Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologist at St. Theresa General Hospital, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care. Your responsibilities will include performing procedures in both the laboratory and diagnostic imaging departments, working as part of an inter-professional team, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze biological specimens, conduct X-ray examinations, and report results in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prepare patients for procedures, perform venipuncture and micropuncture, and maintain routine equipment.
  • Operate, calibrate, and perform basic troubleshooting with selected instrumentation and reporting equipment malfunction.
  • Participate in training of new staff and students, and demonstrate interest in professional growth and maintaining competency of technical skills.
Requirements:
  • Completion of diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT).
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
  • Ability to work various shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and take call by responding within 30 minutes.
  • High level of organizational, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills.
