Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare dough: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Requisition materials: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Quality control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
  • Supervise staff: Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff as needed.
  • Frost and decorate: Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods as required.
Requirements:
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma in baking and pastry arts or equivalent experience.
  • Work setting: Bake shop environment with relocation costs covered by employer.
  • Physical capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colors, attention to detail, fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, and working under pressure.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a related field.
