Sugar Blooms and Cakes Inc. Baker Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team at Sugar Blooms and Cakes Inc. As a Baker, you will be responsible for preparing dough for various baked goods, requisitioning materials, and supervising baking personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare dough: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Requisition materials: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Supervise baking personnel: Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
  • Frost and decorate: Frost and decorate cakes and baked goods to meet customer expectations.
  • Quality control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards by inspecting kitchen and food service areas.
Requirements:
  • Education: Other trades certificate or diploma.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in baking and pastry arts.
  • Skills: Ability to distinguish between colors, attention to detail, fast-paced environment, hand-eye coordination, handling heavy loads, manual dexterity, overtime required, physically demanding, repetitive tasks, standing for extended periods, tight deadlines, and work under pressure.
