Job Title: Systems Security Engineer

MDA Space is seeking a highly skilled Systems Security Engineer to join our Geointelligence Engineering Team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented individual to support the security elements of our Earth Observation space missions, large defence contracts, and in-house developed products. As a Systems Security Engineer, you will ensure expert support is provided to various product/project teams to ensure they address the security target and comply with applicable policies, procedures, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain all security-related system artefacts for projects in development or in-service;
  • Derive security requirements, designs, solutions, and mechanisms in response to current DND security focus including CSE Security Controls and Directives;
  • Support engineering program delivery through the development and generation of security components of documents such as engineering plans, engineering budgets, and design reports;
  • Support planning and cost estimates for projects and bids.

Requirements:

  • A degree or diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or relevant experience in Systems Security;
  • 5+ years working in an engineering or information systems environment;
  • Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP);
  • Understanding of DND project delivery and execution processes from requirements through commissioning and support;
  • Exceptional leadership skills, problem-solving abilities, and project execution strengths;
  • Experience in Network Defense principles and practices, User Security Management, Information Security, Vulnerability Management, and Threat Risk Assessment;
  • Hands-On experience with Microsoft Enterprise network suite, SIEMs, vulnerability assessment tools;
  • Familiarity with requirements management software such as DOORS;
  • Certifications such as Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), or Certified in Governance, Risk, and Compliance Certification (CGRC).

Security Clearance:

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the SECRET status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
