Language Instructor for Spanish ELE

Job Summary

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified instructor to teach Spanish ELE courses. As a Spanish ELE instructor, you will be responsible for teaching grammar, culture, and literature of Hispanic countries, as well as composition and didactics of ELE.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach Spanish ELE courses to students at the University of Ottawa
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of students
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Collaborate with other instructors to develop curriculum and teaching materials
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the Spanish ELE program

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Spanish or a related field
  • Native or near-native speaker of Spanish (C2 level)
  • Experience teaching Spanish ELE courses
  • Expertise in teaching hybrid courses (Brightspace, Blackboard, and other technologies of virtual teaching)
  • Ability to work in teams and manage classroom and administrative tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Spanish or a related field
  • Experience teaching at the university level
  • Fluency in French and English
