Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced instructor to teach Spanish as a Second Language (ELE) at the University of Ottawa. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students, developing and implementing curriculum, and assessing student progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Spanish ELE courses to students at various levels of proficiency
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the University's language program goals
  • Assess student progress and provide feedback
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of language program policies
  • Collaborate with other instructors to ensure consistency in teaching and assessment practices

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Spanish or a related field
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish
  • Experience teaching Spanish ELE to adult learners
  • Knowledge of Blackboard + and other communication technologies
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Spanish or a related field
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation
  • Knowledge of language teaching methodologies and assessment techniques
