Operations Coordinator

Amir Quality Meats Inc., one of Canada's largest and most trusted independent processors and distributors of halal meats, is seeking an Operations Coordinator to join its team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and optimizing production schedules and resource allocation to ensure efficient and continuous operations in a chicken processing facility.
This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to coordinate across multiple departments to meet customer demand while maintaining product quality and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities- Assess facility requirements for raw materials, equipment, and labor to support production goals and meet customer demand.
- Develop daily production plans that factor in customer requirements, available processing capacity, labor, and materials while adhering to product sequencing requirements and optimizing production costs.
- Create and issue work orders to initiate and track production activities, ensuring clarity in production goals and resource allocation.
- Review production schedules daily, weekly, and monthly to confirm alignment with business priorities and operational requirements.
- Track actual yield compared to targets outlined in the production plan to ensure planning accuracy and identify trends or issues affecting production efficiency.
- Lead weekly meetings to communicate updates in production schedules, resources, or processes to the team, ensuring everyone is aligned and following best practices.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels for fresh, dry ingredients, and packaging by tracking short-dated products, setting inventory caps, rotating stock, and maintaining real-time visibility on aged and work-in-progress items.
- Collaborate with quality control, procurement, and other departments as needed to maintain efficient workflows.
This position offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, and the opportunity to work with a leading company in the food processing industry.
A bachelor's degree in management, operations, or a related field is required, along with 3+ years of experience in production planning in food processing, ideally in poultry or meat. Strong understanding of manufacturing, inventory, and distribution processes is essential.
The ideal candidate will be proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP software, possess strong analytical and organizational skills, and be proactive with excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
