SchoolsPlus Community Outreach Worker

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Outreach Worker to join our team at SchoolsPlus Program. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with families, community groups, and schools to facilitate support and services for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop proactive approaches to connecting families and community groups to improve student success
  • Establish relationships with Principals and other staff members to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Report directly to a designated SchoolsPlus Facilitator, working within established accountability frameworks
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Social Sciences or equivalent through experience and relevant Diploma/Certificate from a recognized community college
  • Minimum three years' experience working with students and their families, with direct knowledge and experience of communities served considered an asset
  • Valid Nova Scotia driver's license and reliable vehicle required
Benefits and Compensation

This is a 12-month per year CUPE position with a starting annual salary of $46,277.21 paid every two weeks. Salary is based on a six-step scale with step increases occurring annually.
