Key Responsibilities:- Provide prompt and effective legal and commercial advice and support to the Supply Management and Marketing groups.
- Identify risk and liability issues related to commercial and construction matters and provide advice on risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide legal advice and support for the resolution of commercial disputes.
- Liaise with internal business units for delivery of commercially relevant legal advice.
- Develop and implement business-oriented legal strategies to deal with client concerns.
- Assist in drafting and revising contract templates, policies, and procedures.
- Provide legal support to the Company's marketing business unit and assist in negotiating a range of specialized and non-specialized legal agreements.
- Bachelor of Laws or Judicial Doctorate from an accredited educational institution.
- Active member or eligible for admission to the Law Society of Alberta.
- 5+ years of related legal experience.
- Proven experience in corporate/commercial transactions, supply chain, construction, or oil & gas marketing.
- Additional experience in Intellectual Property and Confidentiality law.
- Proven ability to work independently in an ever-changing, challenging team environment to meet deadlines without sacrificing quality of service.
