Job Title: Truck Driver - Long Haul

At SYS TRUCKING, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Driver - Long Haul to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various locations, ensuring timely delivery and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions, utilizing computer equipment and GPS technology to optimize fuel consumption and reduce carbon emissions.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining a professional demeanor in all interactions.
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of goods.
  • Load and unload goods, adhering to safety protocols and company procedures.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections, monitoring tire condition, lighting, brakes, and other essential equipment.
  • Process payments for goods, maintaining accurate records and adhering to company policies.
  • Perform routine brake adjustments and emergency roadside repairs, ensuring vehicle reliability and safety.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, providing valuable insights for fleet optimization.
Requirements:
  • Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi-trailer trucks)
  • Attention to detail, with a focus on safety and efficiency
  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with repetitive tasks and sitting for extended periods
  • Weight handling capacity: up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs)
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year
  • Language: English
  • Work hours: 40 to 50 hours per week
