Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Specialist to join our team at SYNCREON. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing and preparing weekly, bi-weekly, and off-cycle Canadian payrolls for submission, updating employee records, and ensuring compliance with all applicable provincial and federal wage & hour laws.
About the Role- Analyze and prepare payrolls for submission, including weekly, bi-weekly, and off-cycle payrolls.
- Update employee records to reflect benefits elections, tax, vacation, timekeeping, and other relevant adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable provincial and federal wage & hour laws.
- Run and distribute reports weekly for pensions, union dues, donations, garnishments, vacation accruals.
- Process Record of Employment for inactive employees.
- Answer inquiries from Service Canada and other government authorities.
- Prepare source deduction remittance files.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting.
- Support ad hoc information requests and reporting as required.
- Education: Associate degree or equivalent job experience preferred.
- 5-7 years of experience processing Canadian payroll for employee populations over 500 employees.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, organization, and leadership skills.
- Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- SAP experience - minimum 2 years preferred but not required.
- Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience with ADP - Time and attendance, PTO module, and attendance module.
- Quebec payroll experience is preferred.
Salary Range: $62,400-$93,500 CAD
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
