About the Role

Muskoka Steel Dock Ltd. is seeking a skilled Construction Trades Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our docking operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from the construction site.
  • Pre-Operational Inspection: Perform thorough pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
  • Site Setup and Dismantling: Assist in the erection and dismantling of concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring, and barricades.
  • Earthwork and Grading: Level earth to fine grade specifications, ensuring a stable and even surface.
  • Debris Removal and Maintenance: Clean and pile salvaged materials, and perform routine maintenance work to maintain equipment and site cleanliness.
  • Site Safety and Traffic Control: Direct traffic at or near construction sites, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Setting: This role involves working on docksides, various locations, and construction sites.
  • Physical Demands: The position requires physical stamina, as you will be handling heavy loads and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: You must have excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail to ensure accurate and efficient work.
Workplace Information
  • Work Term: This is a permanent position.
  • Work Language: English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
  • Hours of Work: The standard workweek is 40 hours.
