Job Summary

The Commission scolaire Central Québec / Central Québec School Board is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will be responsible for organizing, preparing, and conducting activities that foster the overall development of students in preschool and elementary school.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and Conduct Activities

Develop and implement educational programs that promote the physical, emotional, and cognitive development of students.

Supervise and Ensure Student Safety

Ensure the supervision and safety of students at all times, adhering to the rules of conduct, safety measures, and recommendations of parents.

Assist with Daily Tasks

Assist students with dressing, undressing, and preparing meals and snacks, while promoting hygiene and well-being.

Communicate with Parents

Inform parents and other stakeholders about student behavior and provide them with relevant information on a daily basis.

Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment

Ensure the cleanliness of the premises and the upkeep of materials and equipment.

Participate in Meetings

Attend meetings organized by the day care service technician to discuss the organization and operation of the day care service.

Requirements
  • Education

Hold a Secondary School Diploma and the AEP (attestation d'études professionnelles) in day care services or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.

Experience

Have one (1) year of pertinent experience in a related field.

Language Skills

Excellent knowledge of oral and written English. Good knowledge of oral and written French would be an asset.

Certifications

Hold a certificate dated no more than three (3) years attesting to the successful completion of a standard first aid course of a minimum eight (8)-hour duration and a refresher course of a minimum six (6)-hour duration updating the skills acquired in the course.
