RN Facility Supervisor

Northwood, a leading continuing care organization in Atlantic Canada, is seeking a skilled RN Facility Supervisor to join our team in Halifax.
About the Role:
The RN Facility Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the nursing services at our facility, ensuring the highest quality care for our residents. This is a leadership position that requires strong organizational and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a unionized environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the nursing team to provide exceptional care to residents
- Develop and implement nursing policies and procedures
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless care delivery
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Provide education and training to nursing staff on best practices and new technologies
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse in the Province of Nova Scotia
- Bachelor of Nursing degree or combination of relevant experience/education
- Six to ten years of relevant work experience
- Experience in physical assessment required
- Experience in mental health considered an asset
- Experience in long term care and acute care considered an asset
- Experience working in a unionized environment considered an asset
- Current knowledge in concepts and trends in nursing and management
- Excellent leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills
- CPR and First Aid certificate required
- WHMIS required
- GPA and PIECES required
- Certificate in Gerontology considered an asset
- Alzheimer's and other related dementia care course considered an asset
- NVCI considered an asset
