Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Housekeeping Services Manager to join our team at Fraser Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the effective and efficient provision of housekeeping services within assigned service areas. This includes providing leadership and direction to all staff, ensuring the appropriate planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of related financial, human, and physical resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer housekeeping service integration and coordination
  • Participate in strategic planning and evaluation of housekeeping services
  • Review and evaluate housekeeping service strategies, systems, programs, and outcomes
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of departmental goals and objectives
  • Participate in the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of quality assurance and control imperatives
  • Assist in implementing, managing, and conducting audit programs
  • Forecasts and recommends long and short-term fiscal planning
  • Participate in annual capital and operating budgets
  • Ensures efficient utilization of financial resources
  • Completes variance analyses of the allocated budget
  • Develops and recommends organizational structures
  • Manages the recruitment, mentoring, and development of assigned staff
  • Conducts employee performance reviews, coaching sessions, and facilitates goal setting
  • Identifies training and/or educational requirements
  • Ensures the implementation of current human resource standards and procedures
  • Interprets and administers collective agreements
  • Investigates and responds to grievances and routine and confidential employee issues
  • Disciplines and initiates employee terminations when required
  • Attends Third Party hearings with the representative of the Employer
  • Liaises with internal stakeholders and participates on committees

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate Degree in Business Administration or related discipline
  • Minimum five years' recent related managerial experience leading housekeeping services initiatives in a health care environment
  • LEADS Capabilities: Demonstrates the leadership practices of the Fraser Health Leadership Framework of Clear, Caring, and Courageous
  • Professional/Technical Capabilities: Demonstrated ability to lead, plan, manage, implement, organize, and problem solve
  • Computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
