Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teacher On Call to join our team at Seabird Island Band. As a key member of our instructional staff, you will provide substitute coverage in various subjects and grade levels, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary teaching team to deliver high-quality education to our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver instruction and curriculum in accordance with the BC Ministry of Education Integrated framework.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans, adapting materials and processes to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Ensure effective classroom management and behavioral support, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess and report on student progress, providing regular feedback and guidance to students and parents.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities, staying up-to-date with best practices in education and curriculum design.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives, promoting a culture of excellence and student success.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field.
  • Current practicing British Columbia (BC) Certified Teacher qualifications.
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with addressing diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of students.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Valid BC Driver's License, Class 5.
