Position Summary:
The ADME Scientist will be responsible for analyzing new candidate radioligands being developed as part of POINT's discovery pipeline. This role involves performing analytical methods to profile the distribution, metabolism, and clearance of experimental pharmaceuticals being tested in vivo and in vitro. The ideal candidate will have technical experience with inductively coupled plasma analyzers, liquid chromatography/mass spectrometry analysis methods, familiarity with handling and analysis of biological samples, and experience working with radioactive materials.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare biological samples for analysis, including digestion of cultured cells and animal tissues.
- Analyze samples using instrumental methods to assess properties of candidate therapeutics.
- Perform metabolite profiling of biological samples using mass spectrometry for both non-radioactive and radioactive ligands.
- Quantify metals in animal tissue sections using ICP-MS.
- Measure ligand concentrations in biological samples using radiometric LC/MS or related approaches.
- Conduct research work independently and collaboratively with senior scientists to support discovery and preclinical activities.
- Maintain analytical equipment to ensure consistent and high-quality data collection.
- Document experimental details and results accurately.
- Manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines.
- Ensure a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety protocols and regulatory requirements governing hazardous chemicals and radioactive materials.
