VPI Employment Services, a leading provider of employment programs in Southern Ontario, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Employment Counsellor to join our team at our Lawrence branch.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues. A strong understanding of labour market trends and emerging opportunities in local industries is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct client assessments to evaluate employment-related strengths, needs, abilities, skills, and other key factors;
  • Develop personalized Employment Action Plans aimed at achieving long-term job stability;
  • Provide ongoing pre-employment support, including career counseling, job search training, and referrals to community resources;
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on client progress and program outcomes;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of employment services.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g. social work, education, human resources);
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in employment counselling or a related field;
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
  • Strong knowledge of labour market trends and emerging opportunities in local industries;
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other software applications.
