About This Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Cook to join our team at our Long-Term Care Facility in Burlington. As an integral part of our kitchen team, you will prepare and cook nutritious meals for our residents, ensuring their dietary needs and preferences are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cooking meals according to established menus, maintaining food quality and nutritional value.
  • Modifying food textures for residents with swallowing difficulties, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, following proper sanitation and hygiene protocols.
  • Assisting with food storage, ordering, and inventory management to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Collaborating with the dietary team to accommodate residents' dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Serving meals efficiently, ensuring proper portion sizes and temperature.
  • Maintaining kitchen equipment and reporting any issues to maintenance staff.
Requirements
  • Culinary program graduate from a recognized institution.
  • Certified Food Handler certification.
  • Previous long-term care experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food texture modification for individuals with dysphagia.
  • Valid Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSC).
  • Flu shot or prescription for Tamiflu (in case of an outbreak).
  • Two-Step TB Test clearance.
Estimated Salary Range

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
