About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cook to join our kitchen team at our Long-Term Care Facility in Burlington. As an integral part of our culinary staff, you will prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for our residents, adhering to their specific dietary needs and preferences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Meal Preparation: Cook meals according to established menus, ensuring food quality, taste, and nutritional value.
  • Texture Modification: Adapt meals for residents with dysphagia (swallowing difficulties) by modifying food textures (e.g., pureed, soft).
  • Food Safety & Hygiene: Ensure the kitchen adheres to food safety regulations, maintaining cleanliness and proper sanitation.
  • Inventory & Ordering: Assist with food storage, ordering, and inventory management to ensure supplies are adequate.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the dietary team to accommodate residents' dietary restrictions and preferences, ensuring their satisfaction and safety.
  • Meal Service: Serve meals efficiently, ensuring proper portion sizes and that food is delivered at the right temperature.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment to ensure it is functioning properly and kept clean.
  • Training & Development: Participate in ongoing training and orientation to stay up-to-date with health, safety, and food preparation standards.
