Senior Commissioning Technologist

Rising Edge Group is seeking a skilled Senior Commissioning Technologist to join our team in a rewarding role that offers a competitive salary and opportunities for growth.
The successful candidate will be responsible for commissioning and testing primary and secondary power equipment in the field, with a focus on medium to high-voltage substation power delivery equipment. This includes maintaining breakers, switchgears, circuit breakers, relays, and transformers, as well as mentoring and educating junior technologists in reading prints, risk management, and industry best practices.
As a Senior Commissioning Technologist, you will play a leading role in setting up and operating standard as well as specialized test equipment to diagnose and analyze the performance of power delivery equipment on the job site. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working safely alongside construction crew members
- Acceptance and maintenance testing of 600v to 500kV electrical equipment
- Installation, commissioning, and maintenance of protection and control equipment, SCADA in medium to high-voltage transmission substations such as differential, distance, line protections, transformer protections, overcurrent, etc.
- Interpreting prints, analyzing test reports, and recommending corrective actions
- Working with high voltage equipment such as Circuit breakers, transformers, switches, and control circuits for protection, indication, and monitoring systems
- Supervising, mentoring, and training junior technicians
- Using various types of manufacturer's test equipment, including Omicron, CMC, CT Analyzer, Cibano, CPC100, Doble M4000, SFRA, MEGGER, Insulation resistance, Ductor, micrometer, and Dilo SF6 Tester

In addition to your technical skills, we are looking for someone who is comfortable working in adverse weather conditions and has a valid Class 5 driver's license.
